Fundamental analysis
Glossary version 2026-07-12.v1 · reviewed July 12, 2026
Analysis of a company’s business, financial statements, competitive position, risks, and valuation to estimate economic quality and value.
Fundamental analysis studies revenue, costs, cash flow, balance-sheet strength, industry structure, management decisions, and valuation. It aims to understand what the business can earn and what those economics are worth. Market-price and technical information can provide context, but they do not replace evidence about the company itself.
