§7 Earnings decision tree
Beat
Keep Sell and do not add exposure.
Trigger: Revenue and earnings exceed estimates while Walmart U.S. economics and operating cash strengthen.
A beat matters only if segment margins hold and investment intensity also improves.
In-line
Maintain Sell and reassess the operating evidence.
Trigger: Results track estimates while margins, cash generation and investment intensity remain broadly unchanged.
Estimate delivery alone would not resolve the valuation and investment-duration risks.
Miss
Sell or avoid the shares if the miss reaches the core operating measures.
Trigger: Walmart U.S. growth, margin or operating cash weakens versus the prior reported period.
Weak domestic growth or margin would reduce sales, profit and cash.

Method
Apply a terminal P/E to the dated forward EPS path, then discount that future share value back to the analysis date.
Convert the revenue and margin path into after-tax free cash flow, discount the annual per-share amounts and at , then adjust for signed per current share.
This path would allow more operating cash to become free cash flow. It fades if investment intensity remains high through FY2029 or segment margins weaken.
This path depends on meeting the FY2028 revenue and earnings estimates while preserving Walmart U.S. operating profitability. It weakens if annual Walmart U.S. revenue growth stays below 3% or operating margin stays below 4.8% for two consecutive fiscal years. Either breach would reduce consolidated sales, profit, earnings per share and free cash flow.1
